March 13, 2018 - Il Sole 24 Ore published an editorial by SEP senior fellow Lorenzo Codogno and his colleague Giampaolo Galli. In this article, they argue Italy's credibility is based on responsible political action, capable of paying constant attention to fiscal discipline and, at the same time, implementing reforms for growth. As they state in the article, according to the electoral promises, these conditions seem no longer in place, and this could lead to a change in the sustainability of debt perceived by financial markets. It may just need a trigger.
