A key element of the reform of the governance of the European Monetary Union (EMU) currently being discussed is the prevention and management of sovereign debt crises. While there is wide agreement on the need to enhance market discipline and to strengthen the role of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), views widely diverge on the policies and instruments to achieve them.
In the framework of the strategic partnership with Intesa Sanpaolo, IAI conference intends to contribute to the current debate through a high-level discussion among world-famous economists and prestigious international institutional representatives, combining a classic economic approach with a political perspective.
The conference was held on December 10, 2018. It is possible to view the program and the slides presented by Marcello Messori below.
