Good debt and bad debt – Carlo Bastasin – La Repubblica

The idea that we can easily distinguish good debt, the one with which productive expenses are financed, from bad debt, which has no direct effect on growth, should not be taken as a revealed truth. When the pandemic hit the Italian economy, the spending with which the government indiscriminately poured out assistance was inevitable to protect the most affected members of the population, allow companies to overcome the hardest moments and prevent the health crisis from taking root as an endless recession.
