The G20 agenda in Rome – Franco Bruni - ISPI

At the end of October, Rome will host the final summit of the heads of state and government of the G20. A joint declaration, not easy to prepare, discuss and approve, will conclude the work of a dozen ministerial summits, organized for the various types of ministries throughout the year of the Italian Presidency. It was a year of intense diplomatic activity, made dramatic by the pandemic and difficult also due to the succession of abrupt and sudden challenges to world cooperation, such as the events in Afghanistan and the continuous tensions between the major powers. It was also an important test for Italy's leadership capacity and for the cohesion of the European Union.
